There’s a very small handful of people mainly the small group of young male geeks who run the large internet companies that are having a hugely outsize affect on the rest of human culture. There’s a small group of several hundred or maybe even several dozen if you boil it down - mainly guys - who are quite young and probably were probably socially awkward before they started having this affect and they are dictating and designing the way our human behavior as people is evolving. We have to ask ourselves if this is good or not. Do we like this fact that a few people are deciding for the rest of us or do we want to have more of a voice in shaping what the digital world becomes? Because increasingly the digital world is just becoming the world
